Enrolment
Enrolment
Process
Families who wish to pre-enrol their child at Birchwood should complete the form at this link:
https://enrolments.linc-ed.com/apply/NZ/3182
The school will be in touch when they receive this information to coordinate the nexts steps in your child joining our school whānau.
Part of the process is a meeting with the Principal to discuss your child's needs, interests and any concerns you may have about them starting school. Classroom visits will also be arranged at this time. You will need to bring relevant documentation such as birth certificate, to this meeting.
Once the enrolment is complete your child will be ready to begin school when they turn five.
Birchwood School has a cohort entry system, therefore there will be two entry points per term, one on the first day of term and one at week six.
Visits
We aim for your child to visit their new class on five occasions before they start school, two morning visits, two afternoon visits and one full day visit. These will usually take place on a Tuesday and Thursday. Parents are welcome to stay for the visit but are also welcome to leave their child once they are confident they have settled.
